Does Your Marketing Strategy Include Working With Your Competitor?

If your answer to that is not a big fat YES, than you’ve got some work to do!

Almost any business person or marketer’s knee jerk reaction when you mention the word ‘competitor’ is an inner cringe.  It’s just the way most of us were raised to think…you’ve got to get ahead or you’ll fall behind, work harder than that other guy, win or lose – you’re either at the head of the game or you may as well not be playing!

But business has changed.

The economic upheaval that is all around is proving on a daily basis how much the old patterns and ways of doing things are falling away – and NOW is the time to be a part of the New Evolution of Business – which means updating your marketing strategy to work WITH your competitors for greater exposure and profit than ever before.

What do I mean by that?

You’ve probably heard the term ‘Joint Ventures’.  Did you know that Joint Ventures are all around you?

When you go into Walmart and find a McDonald’s inside, that’s a Joint Venture.  When you go into Starbucks and use T-Mobile or Rogers WiFi, that’s a Does Your Marketing Strategy Include Working With Your Competitor?Joint Venture.  When you watch Major League Baseball on NBC, it’s a Joint Venture.

There are countless examples of how corporations are using this powerful marketing strategy to increase their profits and recognition in leaps and bounds.  If corporations are the epitome of old-style, crush the competition business ways and they are using this technique, you know there’s something to it!

The truth is, entrepreneurs and small business’ are NOT taking advantage!

I’ve seen so much exciting evidence that the entrepreneurs of today have a ton of heart – you have an amazing product or service that you just want to share with the world – you want to make money, but you want to serve people too.

You’ve gotten that part of Abundance mentality down…but when it comes to actually partnering with the competition, I still see that people either don’t know enough about the ‘how’ to put it into action, or they’re afraid that it will do more harm than help (I mean, why am I going to promote someone that I’m up against?). What’s Different About Successful People’s Success Strategies?

What’s Different About Successful People’s Success Strategies?

What's Stopping You?

When I was working my way through university in the summers, I had a job at a totally rustic resort that was only accessible by sea plane – it was that remote!  This place catered to high powered American executives that paid quite a lot to stay in the lodge, fish, and just get away from it all.

There was no TV, no radio – it was a really peaceful place!

I was the only waitress working there, and I actually got to spend a lot of time sitting on the dock just chatting with these guys.  They were CEOs and top executives of some big companies – these guys owned tons of stock and they were very wealthy.

I was a bit intimidated by them because of that at first, but the experiences that I had as I spent time with these people through my summer job showed me that all these guys that were super super successful were really just like me – regular human beings (I know – I was surprised too! What’s Different About Successful People’s Success Strategies?

They showed me that there was no difference between me and them.  Even though I was ‘just a waitress’, they never treated me any differently or showed me any less respect, and I learned a lot just from chatting with them!

I mention this because it really served me later on when I got into the business I am in now and started working with these big name gurus – the people on the talk shows, bestselling authors, etc.

I know that a lot of my students kind of feel they are somehow separated from that – that they’re very different or somehow not on that level, which is just so completely not the reality of it!

Successful people feel exactly the same way we do. When they do succeed, they feel happy about it, and failure feels just as bad to them as it does to us!

BUT, the main difference that I have noticed in super successful people is that Continue Reading

Have You Heard About the Real Life Indiana Jones, John Goddard?

Have You Heard About the Real Life Indiana Jones, John Goddard?

Several years back, I had an experience that I will never forget. It was a day that changed my life.

I was invited to sit down with The World’s Greatest Goal Setter, the real life Indiana Jones, John Goddard – for the very first time.

I had read about him and his famous “goals list” in one of the Chicken Soup for the Soul books.

There are articles written about him in Life Magazine, National Geographic Magazine, Reader’s Digest and others, and he’s been featured in over 200 television shows!

I was fascinated by the idea of someone who could create 127 life goals and then set out on an amazing lifelong journey to achieve each and every one of them.

I knew this man was a special soul, and someone that I had to meet in my lifetime.

If you know anything about John’s goals list, you know that they are not meagre goals!

His incredible journeys and experiences have included retracing the route of Marco Polo through the Middle East, Asia and China, studying numerous primitive cultures firsthand, reading the entire collection of the Encyclopedia Britannica and the Bible from cover to cover, and climbing Mt. Everest – just to name a few.

I was deeply honoured when John invited me to his California home to sit down with him and his wife Carol in their living room, just to ‘chat’ about life and the art of goal setting.

Both he and his wife were incredibly gracious as they welcomed me into their home. I’ve seen pictures of John on his travels, and he actually does resemble Indiana Jones, with his adventurers hat and well worn khaki shirt and shorts.

But today he doesn’t look anything like the mythical figure I’ve seen, and it almost surprises me to see how regular he looks!

After agreeing to some tea from his wife, I settled down next to him and looked around his living room, which resembled a film set straight out of The Adventures of Indiana Jones, with artefacts and found treasures from his many adventures neatly placed around the room, each with their own unique story.

Suddenly, the $15 replica native mask I had in my own living room that I brought from a store seemed silly, and I vowed to replace it with found treasures from my own life adventures.

But more importantly, I vowed to have my own life adventures! Continue Reading

Tired of trying to stay on?

Are you lacking energy and enthusiasm? Are you tired of living from pay-check to pay-check?

How Do You Become an Expert in Your Niche Market?

Posted on 28 Nov 2012 | Author Stefanie | Comments No comments | Tags

How Do You Become an Expert in Your Niche Market?I read an interesting book called “Blink”1 by Malcolm Gladwell, who was recently called one of the most influential thinkers of our time.

He wrote about “Thin Slicing”, or the ability to get a fast amount of information (in the blink of an eye) when you’ve immersed yourself in its study.

He illustrated this point with a story from the Getty Museum in California. They bought a marble statue for 10 million dollars and had a geologist test the surface of it to make sure it was authentic. After 2 days, the geologist determined that it was.

Then the Museum decided to brag about it.

Shortly thereafter, they were showing the sculpture to Italian Art Historian, Frederico Zeri, who served on the Getty’s board of Trustees, and Evelyn Harrison, one of the world’s foremost experts on Greek Sculpture.

When Zeri was taken down to the museums restoration studio to see the korus, he found himself staring at the sculpture’s fingernails.  They seemed somehow wrong to him, but it was in a way that he couldn’t immediately articulate.

When it was Evelyn’s turn, the curator took her down to the basement, swished the cloth off the top of it and beamed, “Well it isn’t ours yet, but in a couple of weeks it will be.”

To his shock, Evelyn turned to him and said, “I’m sorry”.

She had no idea why she said that, she just had a feeling, a hunch.  You see, these two individuals had spent most of their life pouring over original sculpture and art and had become experts.

Something got recorded in their brain that they were unable to explain.  They absorbed a complicated amount of clues along the way, and it turned into instinct.

This same thing happens to me with marketing, and probably to you within your own expertise.

When these experts looked at the sculpture, right away, in the “blink” of an eye, they instinctively knew it was a fake, although they couldn’t logically explain to the Curator why they had come to that conclusion.

This area of your brain is not connected to your speech.  In 2 seconds, they knew what eventually took the museum 14 months to confirm.

Successful people in business or even in stock investing can often get unexplainable feelings or indications that something is not right or when something is great and they should move on it quickly.

I bet you have your own unique expertise and instincts based on your life experience, hands-on experience and training, and that you could teach that valuable info to another human being who could really use your help and guidance.

What information or skill is literally immersed into your being, your brain that has become your instinct?  Answer that, and your life could change. Continue Reading

Microsoft, Google seal search deals with Twitter

Posted on 24 Oct 2009 | Author Stefanie | Comments No comments | Tags

, , , , , , , ,

I found this article that I wanted to share with you.

Alexei Oreskovic of Thompson Reuters has written an article about a Joint Venture you should know about.

Microsoft Corp and Google Inc have sealed separate agreements to access real-time content from Web phenomenon Twitter, intensifying their battle for a search market that Google now dominates.

Google and Microsoft’s five-month-old Bing search engine, which hopes to take on the current leader, both won access to Twitter’s store of public data in real time, executives at the two companies said on Wednesday.

The long-expected deals are expected to ramp up the efficacy and lure of search results, by allowing users to scan real-time Tweets: 140-character stream-of-consciousness messages that Twitter hosts on its vastly popular website.

But Microsoft appeared to one-up its rival Google, which controls 65% of the search market, with a deal also to include content from social networking site Facebook, one of the Internet’s most visited addresses.

Terms of the deals – which were non-exclusive – were not disclosed.

“In the past few years, an entirely new type of data has emerged – real-time updates like those on Twitter,” said Marissa Mayer, Google’s vice president of search products.

“We have reached an agreement with Twitter to include their updates in our search results. We believe that our search results and user experience will greatly benefit from the inclusion of this up-to-the-minute data.”

Twitter, the three-year-old Web start-up that has become an Internet sensation popularized by celebrities and government, attracts tens of millions of visitors every month.

Qi Lu, president of online services at Microsoft, said data from Twitter could provide “signals” about which content on the Web is most popular and most relevant to search queries.

“You can use those to augment today’s search experience,” Mr. Lu told a San Francisco Internet conference.

From Wednesday, Twitter search results will be accessible on a special section of Bing as a beta, or test product. Microsoft plans to present the most popular Tweets of the moment, while allowing Web surfers to view Twitter messages that contain links to other Web content. Microsoft will filter out spam and other extraneous data.

Conversely, Bing’s Facebook deal encompasses only messages that its 300 million-plus users have flagged as viewable to the public, a practice that is relatively new and not as widespread on the social network, where users typically send messages to groups of friends.

“This is one of the first times that a search engine will be differentiated through access to content. We think Bing will benefit from the right to index and display the tweets almost as soon as they are posted,” JPMorgan said in a research note before Google announced its own agreement.

“As searchers are looking for more and more real-time Web results, we think this partnership will help Bing to improve its user experience.”

Microsoft also inked a deal this year to entwine its search efforts with Yahoo’s.

Yahoo’s chief technology officer, Ari Balogh, told reporters that, generally speaking, any data Microsoft’s search engine has access to would also be accessible to Yahoo under the terms of their partnership.

Yahoo already has been testing the limited inclusion of Twitter messages within Yahoo search results to certain users, he added.

“All content on the Web is relevant to search,” Mr. Balogh said. He thought people would not want to go to three or four sites to access different types of data, such as Twitter results.

Speak Directly to Starbucks President

Posted on 01 Sep 2009 | Author Stefanie | Comments No comments | Tags

, , , ,

Ever imagined how incredible it would be to sit down for coffee (no pun intended here) with the President of the super successful Starbucks Company AND get his advice of how you could make YOUR BUSINESS better?

How much would that be worth?

Actually his advice could be worth millions! He’s already proven he has – he personally grew the business from 28 stores to 400.

Well, understanding this, I made some high powered phone calls ON YOUR BEHALF and personally arranged for 2 lucky JV Club Members to get this very opportunity. Now realize I COULD HAVE taken this opportunity for myself – but I didn’t, instead I have chosen to help YOU, not me. Tell me how many Entrepreneurship coaches are really that committed to help their students?

Answer: no-one.

I am putting you first.

So stop sitting on the side lines, and take advantage of it! Have yourself be chosen to receive FREE PERSONAL one-on-one mentoring from Howard Behar, past President of Starbucks Company.

Ask any question that can help YOU in your own small business.

Think of what your friends and family and competitors will say when you tell them you took a meeting with the President of Starbucks. I see jaws dropping.

Look I have been “the nice gal”, helping those that come to me when they are ready and providing real-world step-by-step strategy and guidance but quite frankly I am tired of some people passing these opportunities by, (and I say this with love), you are a TOTAL IDIOT if you don’t get your butt in the game and begin to realize how BIG these opportunities (such as the JV Contest, the club and this private mentoring) is for you.

Looking from the sidelines is only going to get you depressed, feeling sorry for yourself, broke and to nowheresville.

If I really think about it, I have to say WOW – it’s really crazy and exciting what is happening inside the club lately, last month, several members received collaboration LIFETIME partnership deals from huge players (a big break for them) and this month 2 people will be chosen to get advice from the BIG MAN himself.

In the real world they only take meetings with other big CEO’s of Multi-billion dollar companies. Trust me; this doesn’t happen often – if ever. Period.

And am I charging you $5000 for that privilege? – NO! A Measly $40/month.

That’s crazy.

I am seriously considering making this a more exclusive club – charging that higher fee and only giving it to those who really appreciate it (and quite frankly deserve it).

So stop feeling sorry for yourself, or too small, or not ready. Join the club – meet down to earth people just like you who will become your friends, allies and give you a breath of fresh air or support when you get together.

Just that part of the club alone (people meeting and connecting) is powerful, and you also get live coaching and help with YOUR business from our coaches (at no charge). I get email after email from people who tell me they can’t believe how positive people are in the club, how willing to help and how nice and how casual and easy it is to get advice and assistance from others. They don’t feel alone anymore and are thrilled. If you want to be considered to speak directly to the Starbucks President,

here’s how:

Step One: Become an active member

Step Two: Go the “Millionaire Mentors” section (button on the left, inside the club) to get the secret email address to let us know you should be considered for this mentoring.

It happens LIVE on Sept 11th – so we need ALL applications in this week.

Warmest Regards,

Does Starting an Online Business Isolate You?

RICK FRISHMAN - Author 101

New York News! Need your input…

It has just been a whirlwind of crazy excitement around Hartman Enterprises lately – there is SO much going on – hopefully a lot of it exciting for you!

It’s hard to know where to start but I want to tell you more about my New York trip that was so amazing!

If you didn’t hear about it yet, I went to New York to meet with my publishers and attend Rick Frishman’s Author 101 conference and Book Expo America. It was so great to meet up with all of these people like Rick Frishman and David Hancock – I’ve been friends with them for years now, but this was the first chance to actually meet up in person.

Does Starting an Online Business Isolate You?

It’s actually one of my favourite things about starting an online business and being in groups like the Private JV Clubwhen you finally get to meet up with people, you almost don’t even realize that you’ve never met them! I love being part of business that allows you to create these deep, global relationships with people!

I got the chance to catch up with old friends (that I have met) too – some speaker buddies, Mark Victor Hansen – I got a HUGE hug and kiss when I met up with him again!

Meeting up with all of these people seemed to make the connection we’d created over the years even deeper – it’s something I really recommend that if you get the chance to go to a conference or an event somewhere,  be sure to jump on it! Besides getting the chance to learn some great things, the ability to actually meet up with people in person is always priceless.

Just because you’re starting an online business, it doesn’t mean you don’t create awesome relationships both over the Internet and in person!

Even cooler was the chance to meet up with some of the Private JV Club members and even some of the folks from my Mastermind Group – it was like a big reunion! Continue Reading

Are You Ready to Spring into Success with a Joint Venture?

Are You Ready to Spring into Success with a Joint Venture?

This Mother’s Day many people celebrated and honored their Mother’s by treating them to brunch, lunch or a relaxing day off.  A card, along with some flowers can also part of the day.

In fact, consider that across the USA alone,  people will spend over $15 billion dollars on gifts and flowers for Mother’s Day.  That’s big business, especially since in the week leading up to Mother’s Day, $76 million of that was sold on the internet alone.

That’s a huge amount of money for just 7 days!  Imagine what YOU could earn using the same kind of marketing that many of those very online flower sites used to bring in those kinds of sales numbers.

Imagine being teamed up with a business that could help you reach the kinds of sales you’ve always wanted. And now picture that this could all come with virtually zero risk or cost to you!

I’m talking about Joint Venture partnerships.  They can be the source of amazing opportunity as (when well matched) those businesses that have entered into the agreement benefit from shared resources such as advanced technology and new markets for their common goal, increased profit and market strength.

The key is that perfect match and now you have an opportunity to have that perfect match done for you!

You still have time to enter to win the Joint Venture Partnership of your dreams.

Anyone with an idea can WIN!

Yes, it’s true – Mark Victor Hansen, the man who co-created nothing short of a phenomenon, the “Chicken Soup for the Soul” book series,

IS looking to work with an unknown….could it be you?

You may have seen him on Oprah, Times Magazine, or CNN.

He’s sold more than 120 million books and built into a $1.3 billion dollar empire – does that sound like someone you’d like to partner with?

How life changing would it be to be working with:

  • Several NY Times Best-selling Authors & Entrepreneurial Celebrities!
  • Highly Successful Publicity Expert!
  • The man who has worked with President Jimmy Carter, Howard Stern, John Grisham & Harvey Mackay!
  • A self-made Mom Millionaire!
  • The Newest Financial Expert for a $350 Million/yr Company!
  • Author & Celebrity from ‘The Secret’ Phenomenon!
  • Person who has co-branded with American Idol®, Coke®, NASCAR®, Marriott®, Campbell’s®, Arby’s®, Golf Digest® and others!
  • Oprah & CNN regular Guests!

They want to PROMOTE you for FREE!

While the actual agreement itself is important, the most essential step in a Joint Venture is in fact the ‘matchmaking’ step.  Pairing the right entrepreneur, business, and/or product with its perfect, complimentary match is absolutely essential.

The Private JV Club takes care of this most critical aspect, but if you’re not a member (you should be!) by entering this contest you have the possibility of winning the ultimate Joint Venture Partner for you.

Register for Free here to find out how you can partner up with these Magnates.
